LW GENEALOGY CLUB

The Genealogy Club will hold a general meeting on Jan. 28 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Coffee time starts at 9:30 a.m.; bingo begins at 10. Bring unwanted gifts or items to donate to the prize table.

The membership renewal drive for 2026 is in full swing. The dues remain at $15 for the year—a great bargain to use the Genealogy Library’s brand new computers and paid online subscriptions to Ancestry, Fold3, and Newspapers publisher edition. Renewal sheets are in the Genealogy Library. Fill one out and include it with the dues payment. The club thanks members who have already paid.

The club holds Theme Thursdays—which consist of short learning sessions and discussions—every Thursday from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Genealogy Library. This month’s topics are:

• Jan. 15—Genealogy Goals: What goals will you set? How might you achieve your goals? Ideas and suggestions will be given.

• Jan. 22—American Ancestors: An opportunity to bring in research brick walls and look them up on a new paid site.

• Jan. 29—The fifth Friday “Chew & Chat” general discussion To sign up as a Genealogy Library volunteer or substitute, call 714-390-4213.

The library is open weekdays from 1-4 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Sunday.
