COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Residents play an important role in community decision- making in Leisure World and are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions with the GRF Board.

Therearethreeprimary ways to communicate with the GRF Board: 1. Email: Residents can share suggestions on how to improve the community, submit complaints, provide feedback on proposed policies or ask questions by emailing one of the following addresses:

• info@lwsb.com: Managed by GRF Client Services, this is the best starting point for questions or concerns of any kind, including those related to GRF, Mutuals, staff or other community matters. Residents can also use this address to share compliments, complaints and suggestions. Messages are forwarded to the appropriate department, staff member or committee for follow-up.

• grfboard@lwsb.com: Use this email to share comments with every member of the GRF Board, plus executive staff. Comments sent here are automatically included in the GRF Board meeting packet. This is the best place to email comments on policies undergoing the 28-day review period, which are printed in the Government section when applicable.

2.Commentinperson: California law requires the Board to establish reasonable time limits for members to speak at meetings. (Civ. Code Sec. 4925(b).), and how the Board responds to questions or concerns; most often the Board is unable to respond (Civ. Code Sec. 4930.). Approximately one-fourth of the Board’s meeting, a maximum of 30 minutes, is reserved for member comments. Comments are limited to three minutes if there are no more than 10 speakers. If there are more than 10 speakers, members’ time will be allocated equally to be completed during the available time. To address the board, submit a comment card at the meeting before it is called to order.

3. Submit a letter:

People can drop off typed or handwritten letters with their comments at the Client Services window, located downstairs in the Administration Building through the door marked “Reception.” Client Services staff will ensure the letters are delivered to the appropriate board or committee.
