The Garden Club met June 15 to celebrate another successful year at its annual spring luncheon. Members and guests enjoyed a festive afternoon with a delicious luncheon catered by Avila’s Restaurant, and being with new and established friends. Many entered a costume contest, and most tried to win one of dozens of donated gift baskets. The lunch highlighted the club’s ongoing charitable initiatives

The Leisure World Lions Club will hold an evening of classic Motown hits and favorite oldies featuring “Motown and More with Myles Roach” on June 29 from 6-9 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. Known for his energetic performances and crowd-pleasing repertoire, Myles Roach will bring the timeless sounds of Motown to life with music that spans generations. Admission is free. The Coconut Breeze Club has organized the following upcoming events in Leisure World: • Open Mic Night on June 26: The club will hold an open mic night on June 26 in Clubhouse 4. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the performers start at 6:30. All 20 slots have been filled by aspiring performers. The performers will share variety of entertainment including original songs, poems, comedy and instrumentals.

The Karaoke Club meets Wednesdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 1 for karaoke nights, where friends and neighbors entertain with a wide variety of music.
