The Pool Addicts are spring league champions

The LW Pool Club’s spring league playoffs were held June 1. The matches followed the regular season format, but winners were determined by the first team to reach seven wins.

In the second-place match, The Favorites defeated The Bees 7-6. The Favorites led 6-3 after winning all eight ball doubles, but The Bees—Gary Monahan, Steve Mitchell and Jennifer Spindler—rallied by winning all the nine ball doubles. In the deciding eight ball alternate shot game, Sherry Wells secured the win for teammates Dave Silva and Brian Tivnan.

In the championship game, The Pool Addicts lead The Tumbleweeds 6-4. After splitting the singles matches, The Pool Addicts— Steve Edrich, Jeffrey Furlong and Millie Larsen— won three of the first four doubles games. Tumbleweeds players Gary Snow, Wildfire! Christensen and Paul Ivanoff won the next two games of nine ball doubles to bring the contest to the final eight ball game. Larsen left Edrich a routine shot on the eight ball, and Edrich pocketed it to give the spring 2026 pool league championship to The Pool Addicts. On June 8, the league will conclude with the sweepstakes, where each Monday team will play each Wednesday team one game of eight ball and one game of nine ball.
