Scrabble Club meets 1 p.m. Wednesdays in CH 3

The Leisure World Scrabble Club meets every Wednesday from 1-4 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 5. The club met on the last two Wednesdays in May and on the first Wednesday in June. The June 3 meeting was preceded by lunch in observance of Larry Edgar’s 700th career win.

There were 21 scores above 300 and 14 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move). Jim Schneiderman led with six scores higher than 300 and five bingos. The range of his totaled was from 303-399.

Suthy Edgar, Diane Seeger, and Larry Edgar each posted three scores above 300. Suthy Edgar had five bingos and a range from 398-425. Seeger recorded two bingos and a range from 32-379. Larry Edgar had one bingo and a range from 324-376.

Myrna Losquadro and Sue Ann Gass each topped 300 twice. Losquadro, who had one bingo, had a range from 323360. The range posted by Gass was from 302-316.

Two visitors topped 300: Rod Weissler, with a score of 324, and Lindo Hoffner, with a 321. New members are welcome.
