Join Cinco de Miles 5K walk May 2

The Leisure Leggers Walking Club will participate in the Cinco de Miles 5K walk in Huntington Beach on Saturday, May 2, in celebration of longtime Leisure World resident Tom Pontac, who died April 6. He founded the Leisure Leggers walk/run group 25 years ago and was well known in the community for battling through Parkinson’s disease by routinely participating in 5Ks, often coming in first in his age group.

The SoCal’s Cinco de Miles 5K and 5 mile race starts at Bolsa Chica State Beach, Lot 25, and features the run, live mariachi, dancing, food and more. Race director Caren Ware will honor Pontac's memory at the race.

The Leisure Leggers meets Mondays at 8 a.m. outside Clubhouse 6 for a walk around Leisure World and coffee afterward.
