Pickleball Club


Pickleball is an active sport that has attracted a number of Pickleball Club members. Beginner’s instruction is available at the courts every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Paddles and balls are provided, and players should wear sturdy court shoes. Instruction varies during the month, with the first Wednesday being for beginners, where they can learn how to use the paddle, basic rules and basic shots.

Shuffl eboard Club spring season is two thirds over


With the Tuesday league finishing on June 2 and the Friday league completing their play on June 5, the spring season of the Shuffleboard Club is winding down and is two-thirds over. Some members continue to practice each week on Monday mornings, and special events are held apart from league play throughout the year. There is always something to look forward to for club members. LEISURE WORLD LIONS CLUB California Lions Friends in Sight will bring its free mobile eyecare clinic to Clubhouse 4 on Saturday, May 30, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. All residents are welcome, regardless of income, insurance, or prior eyecare access. The clinic will offer no-cost vision screenings, basic eye-health evaluations, and recycled prescription eyeglasses. Services are provided by volunteer

GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION EVENTS The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will host a 90-minute multicultural festival in the Amphitheater on July 18 at 7:30 p.m. to showcase different cultures in Leisure World. The Cowboy Dance Team was formed specifically for this event and will not continue afterward. Cowboy line dancing grew out of 19th century European and American folk dances, evolved through
