Samuel Calderone
Samuel J. Calderone, 90, of Seal Beach, California, spent his final two years in San Francisco being cared for by his son. He entered eternal rest on Dec. 30, 2025. He was born in Chicago and served his country in the U.S. Army and later settled in California.
He was a hard working man in the food sales industry and eventually owned his own restaurant. He provided for his family, coached little league, was a great cheerleader from the stands as he watched his children play sports and was always willing to be a personal handyman.
He loved all sports and excelled at playing basketball, baseball and in his later years he enjoyed bowling and ping pong. For years he entertained people around Seal Beach with his singing and his ukulele group, Sam’s Strings.
He is survived by Helen, his devoted partner, two children, one step-daughter and his precious grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
He will be greatly missed but his family is comforted knowing he is now feasting at God’s table. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
