Meetings for the Atherton Ward are held at 6500 E. Atherton St., Long Beach. Sacrament service is held every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., followed in the second hour by Sunday school on the first and third Sundays. The Relief Society and Elders Quorum meetings are held on the second and fourth Sundays. Primary classes for children are held every Sunday during the second hour. This year the stake will host a free “A Night in Bethlehem” performance on Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at the Long Beach East Stake Center, 4142 Cerritos Ave., Los Alamitos, 90720. Come stroll through Bethlehem, listen to the choir, and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate. The Light the World vending machines will help believers to help others throughout the world. People can reach out to a member of the church for free tickets.

Starting Jan. 4, the sacrament meeting will begin at 9 a.m. with second hour meetings held from 10:10-11 a.m.

The course of study this year is the Doctrine and Covenants. Personal study of the Doctrine and Covenants for the week of Dec. 1-7 should be centered on the Doctrine and Covenants Section 137-138 in “Come Follow Me.”
