Residents are invited to a free bus information session on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby to learn how to get around Seal Beach and Orange County with ease. The event was organized by the Impaired Vision and Hearing Club but all are welcome. Live closed captions will be provided for people who are hard of hearing.

The session will feature GRF Transportation Manager Grant Winford, along with representatives from Abrazar Inc. and Seal Beach Dial-A-Ride, who will explain a variety of transportation options available to residents. Attendees are encouraged to bring their GRF card and California ID to register for services on-site.

Winford will outline GRF’s transportation services, including the on-call bus and the handicap-accessible Access bus, which operate within Leisure World.

The Seal Beach Senior Transportation Shuttle is one of many transportation options available to LW residents.

Paul Kryczko The Abrazar representative will share how to get to any medical or dental appointment in all of Orange County at no charge, as well as rides for veterans to the Long Beach VA. Seal Beach Dial-A-Ride will explain how to book a ride anywhere in Seal Beach, regardless of the purpose of the trip.

The session will also cover the bus that picks up at the LW Amphitheater and transports riders to the Seal Beach Senior Center, Ralphs shopping center and down to Main Street.

These services are particularly valuable for people suffering with low vision or the inability to drive, helping them remain active and independent.

The last bus information session attracted 100 residents who were eager to learn more about local transportation options. For more information, call Sharon Kohn at 562-881-1969.
