Salvation Army will take gently used items Oct. 11
Salvation Army trucks will be in the Amphitheater parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
The Salvation Army donation event in August was a huge success as shareholders donated enough unwanted belongings to fill three trucks.
The Salvation Army donation project is under the stewardship of the Golden Age Foundation (GAF). It occurs every other month.
In addition to giving residents a convenient venue to drop off donations, the program also saves residents money since it cuts down on expensive haulaway costs for cast-offs that were previously disposed of at the 1.8-Acre site.
The Salvation Army donation collection bags are available in Clubhouses 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, plus the LW Library and LW Weekly office.
The Salvation Army accepts donations of clean, gently used, salable household items including clothing, bedding, kitchenware, small appliances and electronics, toys, sporting goods, books, art, home decor and small and medium furniture. For more information on the Salvation Army donation event, contact Geneva Potepan at 951-675-4271, 562-301-5339 or email mom4rascal@aol.com. —Anna Derby The Golden Age Foundation is not affiliated with the Golden Rain Foundation or LWSB in any way.
