PUBLIC WORKS

Construction work at the Seal Beach Pump Station on the corner of Seal Beach Boulevard and Westminster Avenue began in spring of this year and is expected to continue for the next four years. Crews are currently working on excavating a 50-foot depth for the new pump station’s wet well. A wet well is a large underground tank that collects, stores and pumps sewage into the sewer system.

One northbound lane on Seal Beach Boulevard remains closed for construction. Drivers should exercise caution near the project site, as trucks regularly enter and exit the site.

Once completed, the project will replace the Seal Beach Pump Station. The new station will be upgraded to local, state and national codes and have enhanced security measures. The new facility will also have an added odor control system installed.
