GRF Toy Drive Dance is Saturday, Dec. 13

LEGENDS OF ROCK PERFORMANCE

Leisure World’s annual toy collection is now underway. The collection culminates in the toy drive dance on Saturday, Dec. 13, in Clubhouse 4 starting at 6 p.m., sponsored by SCAN. Live entertainment from the Legends of Rock starts at 7. The band performs rock tunes from the ‘50s-‘80s.

All residents and their guests are invited. Entrance is free, but each attendee must bring a new, unwrapped toy (no stuffed animals). Residents can also drop off unwrapped toys at the Security Main Gate, North Gate, St. Andrews Gate, the Security Satellite Office in Building C, and in the lobbies of Mutual 17.

Toys will also be collected at the Christmas tree lighting event on Dec. 3 (see page 1).

The GRF is thrilled to once again support the Brown Descents Car Club Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that collects holiday toys for children and provides scholarships to disadvantaged teens.

The group took inspiration from the ‘70s car clubs that acted as a way for minority communities to socialize.

The festivities will include complimentary cookies and hot beverages. Santa will be on hand to collect the loot for the kids.
