It’s never too late to become an activist

SENIORS FOR PEACE

The Seniors For Peace Club will meet on Thursday, July 10, at 2 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. The guest speaker will be Phil Glosserman, co-chair of the Southern California Chapter of Third Act, a dedicated group of organizers, campaign strategists, and communications professionals working together to build a powerful elder-led movement for climate action and democracy protection. He will present a program titled “Activism at 70: Keeping Hope Alive.”

Glosserman will talk about important role seniors play in fighting for the climate and democracy. Seniors need to join together to protect freedoms and the environment, especially for the sake of younger generations. People can multiply their influence through the power of numbers by joining action-oriented organizations, “armchair activism” is also essential. Glosserman will describe how he became an activist at the age of 70 and give some recommendations about how to keep hope alive in desperate times. Zoom will not be available for this meeting as Room 1 is not equipped for it. However, the room is large and ample seating should be available. Call Pat Kruger at 562-357-4040 for more information.
