July 4 will feature golf cart parade and car show
GRF EVENTS
The GRF Recreation Department will hold its annual Fourth of July event on Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in and around Clubhouse 4. This year’s festivities will include a classic car show, the popular Rollin’ Thunder golf cart parade, a craft club show, and live entertainment featuring a Roy Orbison tribute performance.
Mark Barnett and his band, The Black & White Knights, will take the stage with “Revisiting the Orbison Years,” a musical journey through Roy Orbison’s most beloved hits. With authentic vocals and vintage flair, Barnett brings the legendary performer’s sound and spirit to life. Residents are invited to dance and reminisce to the iconic ballads and rock and roll favorites of the 1950s and 1960s.
Activities will begin at 10 a.m. in the Clubhouse 4 parking lot, with additional displays and vendor tables inside the clubhouse. Food trucks from Koffel’s, Baby’s Burgers OC, and Scooter’s Italian Ice will be onsite with refreshments available for purchase.
Residents, their families, and guests are welcome to attend. The GRF Transportation Department will provide continuous shuttle service from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. between Clubhouse 4 from both the Amphitheater parking lot and the Optum Health Care Center. All are encouraged to take advantage of this park-and-ride service. There will be no event parking available at Clubhouse 4.
Craft clubs who will exhibit their work should confirm display equipment needs by calling 562-431-6586, ext. 2476, or emailing GaryF@lwsb.com. Space may be available. Any GRF craft club may apply.
