Bruce Bowles aces 86-yard, par 3 sixth hole
GUYS AND GALS TOURNAMENT
Asunny and warm morning greeted the players of the Guys and Gals Tournament on May 21, as 30 teams teed off at the Turtle Lake Golf Course.
Twenty-eight of the 30 teams scored net at or below par. There were 10 circle hole winners, and 44 birdies. In addition, Bruce Bowles shot a hole-in-one with a wedge on the 86 yard par 3 sixth hole.
Closest to the pin for the men was Mark Rice on No. 2 and Bill Zurn on No. 11, and Jane Song and Sang Hi Kim for the women, respectively. Low net score winners were Scott Tuchfarber and Pam Krug, 9 under par; Pat Paternoster and Nancy Smith, 8 under, second; and three teams, 6 under 48, third. Paternoster and Smith, and Bob and Janice Turner tied for low gross at 1 under 53.
A flight winners: Paternoster and Smith, first place; John Kolthoff and Janell Hiebelt, and the Turners, second; Won and Jane Song, and Bill Lyons, Bob Barnum both playing with Yasmin Merali, third.
B flight winners: Terry Thrift and Mary Ann Moore, and Rod Osgood and Laura Garcia, first place; Mark Rice and Bonnie Kilmer, second; Joon Sup and Young Sil Yoon, and Hyon Shin and Sang An, third.
C flight winners: Tuchfarber and Krug, first place; James Farr and Ann Tran, second; Zurn and Neva Senske, and John Rudosky and Jane Kors, third; Jon Russell and Judi Ornoff, fourth.
