South Coast Orchid Society

The South Coast Orchid Society will continue its 75th anniversary year with a hands-on workshop on orchid culture and repotting on Monday, May 19, from 7-9 p.m. at the Whaley Park Community Center, 5620 East Atherton St., Long Beach.

Now that the days are longer and the nights warmer, most orchids are eager to grow—many want to be repotted. Join the meeting to learn how it’s done.

Experts will evaluate plants to see if they are good candidates for repotting. This is a great opportunity to handle different potting media, and learn why they are used. A fee of $5 per person will help cover the cost of supplies. The meeting is open to the public.
