First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible, most often verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine,” Romans 1:12.

Pastor’s Message

The apostle Paul continues in his letter to believers in Rome in Romans 5:1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Up to this point in his letter, Paul has spoken of the great truth that God saves sinners by his grace through faith alone.

Paul writes in verses 1-11 that the believer receives peace with God, standing in his grace; receiving the hope of glory and divine love, escaping God’s divine wrath; and finding joy in the Lord.

All these blessings flow to the believer through Christ. He is the mediator between God and man, and all God’s blessing are channeled through Jesus to those who have been saved by God’s grace through faith.

Weekly Services

Sunday services are from 9:30-10:45 a.m. and feature traditional hymnal music led by Janet Ray with Sherry Parmenter at the piano. Paul Lee will sing a special solo.

Saturday services include contemporary songs of worship, led by Gregory Black with guitar and vocal accompaniment. Saturday service time is 9:30- 10:45.

Midweek Studies

The Monday Women’s Bible Study led by Melli Herrera is on break until July 28.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the Thursday Bible study from 10:3011:30 a.m. and the Friday prayer and Bible study from 4-5 p.m.

Scripture of the Week

“O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8.
