Shuf. eboard Club begins open play during summer months

Traditional days for Shuffleboard Club open play, Monday and Wednesday mornings, will continue throughout the summer months. Members look forward to this non-league time to interact with fellow club members to hone and improve their skills, and to practice various facets of the game they may consider weaker than others. In the lazy hazy days of summer, the courts become a welcome oasis.

The Shuffleboard Club board is also considering other opportunities for members.

June 5 Thursday afternoon league results: Team Lynne snuck by Team Anita 7-5. Team Lynne’s all-game winners were Lynne Haines and John Mount. Team Anita’s all-game winners were Anita Giroud and Bob Ponegalek. Team Jack and Team Kay tied it up 6-6. Team Jack’s all-game winners were Jack O’Brien and Stephanie Reagan. Team Kay had two all-game winners: Kay Mount and Kirk Smith.

June 6 Friday morning league results: Team Patti trounced Team Shel 9-3. There were four all-game winners for Team Patti: Sal LaScala, Kay Mount, Rod Osgood and Sue Rotter. Team Shel had no all-game winners. Team Sally beat Team Carol 7-5. Lynne Haines and Doris Morton took all-game honors for Team Sally while Rod Leebrick and John Mount took that distinction for Team Carol.
