Deadline to submit pieces for ‘Art in Bloom’ exhibit is May 30

Leisure World artists interested in displaying their artwork at the “Art in Bloom” fine art exhibition, sponsored by Gasper Monteer Realty Group, must apply by email to ramayanbaba@msn.com no later than tomorrow, Friday, May 30.

Accepted exhibitors may display up to three art pieces per category, in one or two categories. “Art in Bloom” will be the Art League’s first fine art exhibition tailored to feature work by LW artists. The event will be held Saturday, June 21, from 4-7 p.m. in the lobby of Clubhouse 3.

Interested artists may apply for consideration by submitting digital images of their artwork, and a completed application. Applications are available from the Recreation Office in Building C. People can also request a PDF version of the application by email to lwsb.artleague@gmail.com. The show will feature ceramics, digital art, drawing, fabric art, glass, jewelry, lapidary, mixedmedia, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and wood.

Entrants do not need to be current Art League members to apply. If accepted to the exhibition, participant fees will include the first year of Art League membership. Admission to view the exhibition in an open and inviting environment is free of charge and will feature live music and hors d’oeuvres available from Koffel’s Food Truck. Proceeds from the event will provide art scholarships for Los Alamitos School District art students to encourage the pursuit of thoughtful expression through fine art.
