Shamrocks, shenanigans and corned beef coming March 15
SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB
The Shuffleboard Club will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party on March 15 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, at 5 p.m. Who better to cook up some corned beef for a St. Paddy’s party than a guy named Jack O’Brien. He’s been doing it for a long time and everybody loves it. He says he’s found a easy way to cook moist corned beef for a crowd. He uses Costco’s microwaveable version and puts it in a crockpot after cooking to keep it warm. He usually cooks three or four of them depending on the size of the crowd. Able assistants helping O’Brien that night will be Roger Bennett, Teri James and Mary Lund. The rest of the meal will be potluck by other attendees. Friends of the club and prospective members are encouraged to come. All that’s required is to wear some green and bring nine quarters to play the game “Left, Right, Center” after dinner.
There will be an important general membership meeting on Thursday, March 13, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 1. All members are urged to attend. The Board is hoping for a large turnout.
The remaining winter Tuesday league games will be played on March 11 and 18. The remaining winter Friday league games will be on March 7, 14 and 21.
Sign-ups for the three spring leagues began on Feb. 28. The deadline to sign up is Friday, March 21.
