Wa-Rite’s three weight loss strategies: decide, commit and succeed
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. Women who want support on their weight-loss journey and to meet like-minded people are welcome to stop by no later than 8:15 to weigh-in and complete the registration paperwork.
At the Jan. 31 meeting, members learned that the club lost a total of 38.5 pounds. Judy Chambers was named the biggest loser with a 3-pound loss. Chambers said she did all the right things, such as drinking a lot of water, exercising and eating a lot of popcorn without butter or salt.
The club also held the election for its 2025 board of directors consisting of President Judy Chambers, first Vice President Bev Bender, Second Vice President Linda Rich, Secretary Jeanette Williams, Treasurer Joyce Brannon, weight recorder Darleen Gardner, back-up for weight recorder Henrietta Peavy, and Karen Green (membership), Pat Miller (sunshine), Shirley LaBrecque and Velma Sarna (hospitality), Jan Friedland and Judy Chambers as a back-up (publicity).
The weekly food for thought was: “It is always better to maintain than it is to regain. Decide, commit, succeed!”
