Fifth Wednesday will be shotgun scramble

On April 30, instead of the usual fifth Wednesday Guys and Gals tournament, there will be a shotgun scramble. Sign-ups will begin in early April at the clubhouse during men’s, women’s, and Guys and Gals tournaments. Cost to play is expected to be $15 per player. Only 54 players— both men and women—can play (six golfers per team at each hole), and players must have a women’s or men’s club handicap to enter. Rules are: 1. Each team member tees off and then it’s best ball until the ball goes in the hole. 2. Each best shot is to be marked, and every other player plays from within 6 inches of that spot.

3. Every team member must use their drive off the tee three times. 4. All balls are to be played into the hole—no gimmies or concession. 5. Only the best score is entered on the scorecard. 6. Players may be playing on a team with golfers they don’t know.
