Beautification of all three entry gates is scheduled to begin July 13 and continue through mid- to late August. The project was approved by the GRF Board on May 26 and includes new paint for all three gates, as well as other aesthetic enhancements.

North Gate

Beautification of the North Gate is scheduled to begin July 13 and will last

• Removal of existing pavement and construction of a new curb and planter area. Left-turn traffic will be impacted during this segment of the project, which is expected to last less than one week. “No Left Turn” signs will be posted during construction hours.

• Repainting the exterior of the gate shack. Inbound and outbound lanes will close during painting, which is expected to last one to two days in late July.

• Installation of new planters, river rocks and boulders, as well as drip irrigation for new landscaping.

Main Gate

Work at the Main Gate is scheduled to begin July 20 and last approximately one week. The project includes:

• Relocation of a storage shed and demolition of the current shed pad. Limited lane closures are expected during the two-day demolition.

• Repainting lane markings and the exterior facade of the Main Gate structure.

• Installation of new planters, river rocks and boulders, as well as drip irrigation to support new landscaping.

St. Andrews Gate

The beautification of the St. Andrews Gate is scheduled to begin Aug. 3 and is expected to last one week. The project includes:

• Removal of AstroTurf and concrete, followed by the installation of a new planter in front of the security shack.

• Exterior painting of the gate shack, during which the inbound and outbound lanes will be closed for approximately three days.

• Installation of plants, boulders, mulch and drip irrigation.

The total cost to beautify all three gates is $81,520; of which $18,378 in capital funding will pay for planters, and the new curb at the North Gate. The remaining cost will be funded through reserves.

The work will be completed by the GRF Service Maintenance Department, MJ Jurado Inc., Hutton Painting and J& J Landscaping. Traffic Impacts and Closures

• Main Gate, July 20: Limited lanes available. Night work expected; dates to be determined.

• North Gate, July 21: Inbound and outbound lanes closed.

• St. Andrews Gate, Aug. 3-5: Inbound and outbound lanes closed.
