Board initiates open call for candidates to fill vacant M16 seat
GRF ELECTIONS
On July 8, the GRF Board began an open call for candidates to fill the vacant Mutual 16 seat on the Board of Directors. GRF members from any Mutual can submit an application for consideration by the Board. Applications must be submitted to the Stock Transfer Office, located on the first floor of the Administration Building, by Wednesday, July 22, at 4 p.m.
The Board will review applications on Thursday, July 23, and hear brief presentations (no more than five minutes) from all eligible candidates on that day. The Board will then select a candidate to fill the vacant board seat.
The vacancy was created by the resignation of GRF Director Janet Isom on June 9. In accordance with GRF’s Bylaws, a five-day call for candidates exclusive to Mutual 16 began on June 17 and concluded on June 22. When no candidates were submitted from Mutual 16, the power to fill the vacancy on an appointment basis becomes the decision of the GRF Board, and opened the seat up to all members of GRF, regardless of Mutual.
Members interested in applying are encouraged to speak with a GRF representative about the commitments and duties associated with volunteering for the Board. Anyone applying should also be prepared to give a brief presentation to the Board as part of the appointment process.
