Community Karaoke
The Community Karaoke Club celebrated Elvis Presley’s birthday with a flourish of his hits on Jan. 8. Host Walt Bier began the evening with “I Want You, I Need You, I Love You.” Ray Geierman, Dorothy Ferrington, Chuck Oehl, David Noble, Shannon Harrison and Young Ro followed singing other popular tunes. Sherlene Wallis, Elizabeth Butterfield and Vinny Correnti amused with their antics singing “Always On My Mind.” Gospel tunes became sing-alongs led by Ren Villaneauva, and the duet of Vito Villamor and Essie Hicks. Joe Roberts surprised the audience with his strong voice singing a cappella.
Folks were happy to return from the holidays to a joyful night of music. Karaoke parties are held in Clubhouse 1 each Wednesday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to sing and socialize. Many try out new tunes at the practice sessions held in Clubhouse 6 each Monday from 1-3 p.m.
