The Art League’s new season of monthly meetings will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4. Interested residents are invited to attend, join the Art League and participate in the league’s monthly workshops.

On July 14, an intimate gathering of Art League members enjoyed an end-of-the year dinner and review of events. President Ramayana (RB) Baba used the occasion to recognize committee and board members who worked diligently to make this year’s monthly workshops and demonstrations so successful. He also recognized those who contributed to the success of the 2026 Art in Bloom Exhibition, a showcase of art by LW residents that attracted hundreds of people.

The meeting featured a sixminute video highlighting the artwork, artists and guests in attendance at the exhibition, then a review of the year’s demonstrations and workshops presented by guest artists.

In preparing for next year’s monthly meetings, league members reviewed each guest presenter from the previous year and expressed their feedback and preferences for future meetings.

The following were recognized for their efforts in making the Art League and its events so successful: Board Vice President Jim Greer, special advisor Linda Frysinger, Treasurer Marion Higgins, and President Emeritus Susie Ralston. For their contributions to the success of Art in Bloom, the board recognized Marilyn Jonas, Terese Smith, Barbara Simundza and Brenda Hemry. Frysinger, Simundza and Smith thanked and praised Baba for his vision and service in leading the league as president.

The Art League will hold a holiday edition of the Art in Bloom exhibition on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. in Clubhouse 4.
