Leisure World residents are invited to celebrate the holiday season with a special Recreation Department bus trip to South Coast Repertory’s 46th annual production of “A Christmas Carol” on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.

For nearly half a century, South Coast Repertory has brought Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday story to life, making “A Christmas Carol” a cherished Southern California tradition.Filled with festive music, joyful dancing and the timeless message of kindness and generosity, the production offers a wonderful way to welcome the holiday season.

The story follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly businessman whose life is transformed during one extraordinary Christmas Eve. Guided by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come, Scrooge revisits his life, discovers the consequences of his choices and learns the true meaning of Christmas.

Adapted for the stage by Jerry Patch and directed by Hisa Takakuwa, this year’s production will be presented on South Coast Repertory’s Segerstrom Stage. The performance runs approximately two hours, including one intermission.

Tickets are $103 per person and include theater admission and round-trip bus transportation from Leisure World.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 9, at 8 a.m. at the Recreation Office and online at www. lwsb.com/special-events. Space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to secure their tickets as soon as possible.
