Help make poppies for veterans and their families

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY

Members of the American Legion Auxiliary of Leisure World are hard at work crafting symbolic red poppies. The handmade poppies, a historical symbol of military sacrifice and remembrance, serve a purpose in the community. Every poppy distributed helps raise awareness of the sacrifices made by active-duty servicemembers and veterans.

Most importantly, 100% of the donations received from the poppy distribution are used to support veterans and their families. From assisting local veterans with essential needs to supporting family welfare programs, these donations are dedicated to those who served.

The Auxiliary invites anyone who wants to support this meaningful cause to join them. The group meets every Tuesday in Clubhouse 3 at 9:30 a.m. No prior experience is necessary, and extra hands are always welcome to help craft these symbols of remembrance. Through this continued dedication, the LW Auxiliary ensures that the community remembers the true cost of freedom while providing tangible, life-changing support to the nation’s heroes.
