Community Karaoke Club Community Karaoke Club

Karaoke continues to draw a lively crowd each Wednesday evening in Clubhouse 1, where residents gather from 5:30-9:30 p.m. for an evening of music, familiar favorites and plenty of fun.

Among the regular singers are some robust voices and a few new faces. Andy Baker continues to impress with his strong voice, while newcomer Steve Harris has taken to the microphone in public for the first time. Danna Saunders keeps things moving with songs that have a good beat, and David Noble often chooses playful tunes such as “Me and Bobby McGee.” Bob Barnum is always on the lookout for new songs to add to the karaoke collection. Gerry Tagaloa chooses melodies to please his wife, while Mariza Joaquin can often be seen swaying along with the music as she performs. Shirley Dammeyer recently chose the new-wave favorite “Modern Love.” There is something for everyone, with a variety of music and a room full of happy folks.

To rehearse a tune, join the Monday practice group in Clubhouse 6 from 1-3 p.m. It’s a small group having fun trying out songs.
