Assembly of God

Leisure World Assembly of God meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby. On Sunday, Sept. 20, Pastor Chuck Franco will preach a message titled “Workers in the Field.”

The notion of what is fair is an individual judgment. Yet people try to apply their own standards universally and require others to accept their idea of what is fair. Jesus turned most human logic upside down. Matthew 20:1-16 presents the parable of the three sets of workers, hired at three separate times during the same workday, and the wages they received at the end of the day. The first group, who had worked all day, screamed “unfair” when the last group, who had worked only a few hours, was paid the same wages they had received. Jesus uses the reaction of the workers to teach a principle about trusting God to use his resources as he sees best.

The Wednesday Bible study meets at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. It will continue in the series by Dr. Nicole Martin in the book of Jeremiah, in Jeremiah 40:1-45:5, “Life After the Fall.”
