Scuba diver and noted underwater photographer will present Sept. 16

TRAVELING TIGERS

The Traveling Tigers will meet Wednesday, Sept. 16, at noon.

The meeting will start with a potluck, following by a brief club update and then a presentation by Bill Brush. The club thanks those who bring dishes to share.

Brush holds a degree in oceanography from Humboldt State University, where he worked with Environmental Quality Analysts studying the effects of ocean outfalls along the Southern California coast. An active scuba diver for 57 years, he taught diving at Golden West College and worked at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, raising funds for educational exhibits and facility expansion. While there, he also created the unique “Chocolate Lobster Dive” fundraiser.

Bill and his wife, Penny, have traveled to all seven continents. His presentation will take the Traveling Tigers on an underwater journey around the world, featuring his photographs of remarkable marine life from the Red Sea, Maldives, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, Palau and California’s Channel Islands.

Bill’s underwater photography has received numerous awards, including recognition at the SEA Show and the Los Angeles International Underwater Photo Competition. His images have also appeared in Sport Diver Magazine, Rodale’s Scuba Diving Activity Calendar, and diving equipment catalogs.
