Tournament Poker Club will play Sept. 5 in CH 6
Those who want to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em for a $5 buy-in can play with the Tournament Poker Club on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Clubhouse 6. Regular tournaments are held on the first three Saturdays of every month and start at 10 a.m. with registration. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating. Note that there will be no tournament on Sept. 19 due to the GRF swap meet being held in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot.

At the tournament on Aug. 15, there were 72 players, which meant a great game for all participants win or lose. High hand winners were Treva Carnes (quad aces with king), Terry Gonzales (quad queens with ace), and Tony Canfora (A-AA- 8-8). Donna Hernandez won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 9-3.
As the winners of their original table, the final table players were: Wendy Wu, first place; Susan Dodson, second; Linda Stone, third; Jeff Rolnick, fourth; Nita Doyan, fifth; Robert Stefun, sixth; Tony Canfora, seventh; and Bill Schafer, eighth. This was the second week in a row in which women dominated the final table.
Wu has lived in Leisure World for 18 years and has been a member of the club for 16 years. This was her 20th final table win. Wu is a member of several poker groups, and plays table tennis. She also likes to read and enjoys time with her many friends.
