LW Pool Club fall night leagues begin Sept. 7

The Leisure World Pool Club held its annual 3-6-9 Nine-Ball Doubles Tournament recently. The team of Rusty Aquino and Phuoc Tran overcame a slow start in their first match of this round-robin event to finish in first place. The team of Ren Villanueva and Ron Thompson finished only one point behind to nab second place. John Barth and JoJo Hitt finished third in the 12-team tourney.

In the club’s straight pool league, week eight winners included Jennifer Spindler, Jeffrey Furlong, Layla Barr, Linda Patton, Phuoc Tran and Teri Nugent. The fall league night season begins play on Monday, Sept. 7, at 6 p.m. Six teams play on Mondays and six play on Wednesdays. All league night matches, including playoffs, are contested in the Clubhouse 2 pool room.
