LW Baptist meets for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

The theme for the Sunday, Aug. 30, service is God’s promised blessings and discipline. Nobody earns God’s blessing. He blessed his creatures at creation. God’s blessings are gifts of his grace. God blessed Abraham by teaching him to trust in him. When people trust God’s promise, they discover his blessings.

The Apostle Peter tells that the prophet who Moses foretold was Jesus and that God sent him to bless people by turning each one from their wicked ways. Woes are the consequences of forsaking God. God says people commit two evils: “forsaking me, the Fountain of Living waters, and hewing for themselves broken cisterns that can hold no water.”
