Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $ 10 ayear, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.

On July 17, members learned that the club lost a total of 16 pounds with new member Susan Millar being the biggest loser. Millar credits her 4-pound weight loss to a song members sing at the club’s meetings about taking time to chew food to eat less and feel better.

Denise Stabile presented on how to adjust personal behavior to see a change in any aspect of life. She said that personal change requires honest self-reflection, analysis and positivity, and does not benefit from shame or judgment for past missteps. She suggested breaking down a path to new behavior and habits into small, doable, short-term goals to remain motivated and successful, was: “I can and I will!”
