LW Assembly of God will welcome Rev. Scott Roberts, founder of Qashar Ministries, as its guest speaker on Sunday, Aug. 2, at 10:30 a.m. in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby.
“Qashar” means to bind, tie or knit together physically or emotionally with love. The focus of this ministry is to assist Israeli immigrants and vulnerable people with essential needs as they seek to start over in new surroundings. Jesus affirmed several times that meeting the needs of the widows and orphans was part of the true religion. Pastor Roberts will bring a message of hope and challenge the church to reach overlooked people in Israel.
The Wednesday Bible study continues in the series by Dr. Nicole Martin in the book of Jeremiah, with a message titled “The God Who Confronts,” from Jeremiah 7:1-10:25. In Jeremiah’s time, Israel had repeatedly chosen to reject God and worship idols. God called Jeremiah to deliver a message of warning to Israel and Judah of the coming consequences and offer a way of escape. Discussion for the study is moderated by Pastor Chuck Franco and follows the video lesson. The study meets on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
