Letters to the Editor
Editor:
I just came from watching the movie “Going in Style” (July 24) at the Amphitheater. The new projector is spectacular! The picture is as bright as my LED TV at home. The resolution and clarity are very crisp with no noticeable pixelation.
This improvement over the old system is beyond my expectations.

Several weeks ago, there was an article about a local artist, Sung Kim, who repairs small religious objects and decorative items at no cost.
The article caught my attention because I had a religious statue that was in need of repair. Upon contacting Mr. Kim, he repaired the statue to like-new condition, and when I offered to compensate him for his efforts, he graciously refused any payment.
Therefore, I would like to give my five-star rating to Mr. Kim for his efforts, and give my recommendation to other LW residents, who may be in need of his repair services.

I read the article on Mr. Sung Kim in the July 16 edition and contacted him.
He and his wife picked up my two damaged articles and had them fixed next day.
He did great work. They look just like new. He would not take any money when I offered. He pointed up and said that it was for the glory of God. Andrea Maas Mutual 4 Editor’s Note: Mutual 15 resident and sculptor Sung Kim is offering free repairs for small decorative sculptures and religious items. Delicate statues and figurines with intricate details can easily become chipped or broken over time. Residents who would like to have an item repaired can call 213-422-9009 or 210488-1425, or email 9009kss@gmail.com. Editor: My husband and I attended the Multicultural Festival hosted by the Golden Age Foundation (July 18) and enjoyed it very much ( see page 16 for story and photos). The performances were exquisite, well rehearsed, and the costumes were beautiful.
The audience was enthusiastically engaged, perhaps, in part, because of the glow sticks provided by the Golden Age Foundation. The vendors were friendly and informative.
I can’t imagine the event could have been any better!
Anna Derby was a terrific emcee.
The crowd understood how hard she was working and appreciated how personable she was. I was totally impressed with her relaxed style. She had the crowd eating out of her hand.
Kudos to everyone who took part and participated in this impressive event.

I am 91 years old and suffer from neuropathy. Recently, I began experiencing an indescribable burning sensation in my hands and feet as if they were on fire.
My doctor prescribed medications, but the pain persisted.
My assistant reminded me that I had a powerful massager in the garage, one I had bought from Costco about 35 years ago.
This massager is lightweight at 5 pounds. She suggested I try it if the pain returned.
When the pain came back, I used the massager on my hands and feet. I placed my hand on top of the cushioned massager for as long as I could, and I began to feel relief. I realized I needed to use it for about 10-15 minutes on my hands and feet. The pain cleared substantially, and I was very excited.
Since then, I have continued massaging my hands and feet for about 15 minutes in the morning and before going to sleep.
I also use the machine to massage my shoulders and arms for about 10 minutes each.
Over time, the neuropathy symptoms in my hands and feet have slowed down, and the nighttime pain does not wake me up any longer.
I am sharing this because the relief from pain and the possibility of slowing down the pain is knowledge that should be shared. I am not a doctor. I can only speak from my own experience. If you decide you want to try something like this, I strongly recommend that you speak with your doctor first.
I feel I could not live without my massager.
