LW Korean Community Church
LW Korean Community Church’s (LWKCC) Sunday service began with a baptism ceremony officiated by senior Pastor Jang Young-Yong. The congregation was filled with deep joy as it witnessed the journeys of two believers who, having lived without knowing Jesus, were led by God to the church, accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, and received baptism through faith.
Pastor Yong’s following sermon was titled “An Expression of Gratitude for the First Fruits,” based on Exodus 23:16. The pastor proclaimed that God alone is the source of all fruit and blessings; citing Proverbs 8:18-19, he emphasized the importance of always remembering that everything a person enjoys is a gift bestowed by God’s grace.
The baptism service was a time for congregants to acknowledge that life is filled with God’s grace, and relying on the Lord is the fruit that believers ought to bear.
Following the sermon, the congregants observed Holy Communion, meditating on the love of Jesus Christ, who gave his body and shed his blood on the cross for all people.
God’s grace is the beginning of faith and leads directly to a life of gratitude. Believers must resolve to live a life bearing the fruits of love and service—relying on God’s grace each day— rather than comparing themselves to others or becoming discouraged by circumstances.
LWKCC meets for worship at 14000 Church Place every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. The early morning prayer service, led by the senior pastor, is held in the sanctuary at 6 a.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays.
