Document Shredding Event, July 14

The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will hold a shredding service in the Clubhouse 2 parking lot on Tuesday, July 14, from 10 a.m.-noon.

To ensure a smooth service day, residents are asked to adhere to the following rules:

• Do not close or tie bags with documents to be shredded; leave them open.

• Do not bring documents in boxes.

• Stay in the car; GAF volunteers will get the bags from the car’s passenger side.

• Do not arrive earlier than 10 a.m. No one will be there to guard dropped off documents.

• All shareholders are asked to drop off items and leave immediately to keep flow of traffic going.

• The GAF will only accept plastic or brown paper bags.

• There will be no chairs for people to sit at the event, and no line will be allowed.

•Magazines or newspapers will not be accepted.

The shredding service program is sponsored by the GAF to help the community dispose of members personal information safely and securely.

••• Ice Cream Social July 16 To celebrate summer in Leisure World, the GAF will host an ice cream social in Clubhouse 4 on July 16 from 2-4 p.m.

Shareholders will be treated to a free one scoop of ice cream and have the opportunity to spend time with the GAF Board and volunteers to learn more about the organization.

A poster presentation from the 50th Anniversary Celebration will be on site for guests to see some of the many projects the GAF has funded in the past.

The board and volunteers will also be available for those who would like to donate to the GAF by signing up for the Ralph’s Community Rewards Program or a GAF membership.

To sign up for the Ralph’s Community Rewards Program, people will need to bring their Ralph’s membership identification, cell phone, and be prepared to provide an email for the onsite GAF volunteers.

GAF will have volunteers to help people sign up for the Ralph’s Community Contribution Program on July 15 from 9-11 a.m. in the Clubhouse 6 hospitality area.

GAF began the Ralphs Reward program in 2014 to raise funds to add amenities and services to help residents.

Over the year, shareholders’ active participation and a strong volunteer effort from the GAF Board and members, the program grew to almost 650 shareholders supporting this fundraiser.

Each quarter, Ralph’s Rewards brings in more than $1,500— annually almost $6,500.

The Ralphs Community Contribution Program is sponsored by its parent Kroger Grocery Stores and is an easy way for Leisure World residents to raise money for the GAF.

People will need a Ralphs membership card, an email address and a cell phone to receive a verification code from company. It will take about 10-15 minutes to complete the process.

Those who are not available are welcome to come to Clubhouse 4 on the July 16 for the ice cream social.

The GAF board will be there to help people sign up for the Ralph’s Reward program.
