Wa-Rite members celebrate small wins to stay motivated
Wa-Rite is afemale-only club that meets on Fridays from 9-10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in.
LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.
On June 5, members learned that the club lost 9.5 pounds.
Jeanette Williams and Kathleen Hessley shared the biggest loser title with a 2-pound loss each. Williams said selfdiscipline and eating right helped her lose weight. Hessley said she’s been eating more protein and no processed foods.
The queen of the month was Julie Cisneros with a 4.5-pound loss. She took time to chew her food and cut back on carbs.
Three members with the most weight loss were Shirley LaBrecque, 20 pounds; Julie Cisneros, 4.5 pounds; Mary Pompi, 4 pounds. Bea Quintana was the only degreed member of the month in weight loss who won.
There were no members who attended every week without any gain. Shirley LaBrecque was the only one who reached her bachelor of goal weight.
The weekly food for thought was: “Every day is a new beginning—one day or day one? You decide.”
