Tournament Poker Club will play July 4 in CH 6

Those who would like to play a fun and friendly game of Texas Hold ‘Em for a $5 buy-in can make plans to play with the Tournament Poker Club on Saturday, July 4, in Clubhouse 6. Regular tournaments are held on the first three Saturdays of every month and start at 10 a.m. with registration. Cards are in the air at 10:30. There is no late seating. There will be no regular tournament on June 20 due to the GRF swap meet (see page 1) being held in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot.

On June 6 there was a great turnout for the first regular tournament in June. High hand winners were: Marvin Rolnick (10-10-10-10), Donna Hernandez (2-2-2-2), and Katie Hamilton (A-A-A-Q-Q). Doug Wolfe won a prize for playing and winning with the promo hand of 10-3. As the winners of their original table, the final table players were: Guta Basner, first place; Fiona Wolfe, second; Jess Pringle, third; Marvin Rolnick, fourth; Cleo Looney, fifth; Brent Covington, sixth; Jae Jun, seventh; Kathy Seagroves, eighth.

Basner has lived in Leisure World for 12 years and has been a member of the club for nine years. This was her 15th final table win. Besides playing in several different poker games, Basner also plays pickleball and billiards. She is on the board of her Mutual and is currently the president of the club. When Basner has spare time, she likes doing puzzles and completing sudoku number puzzles.
