LW Baptist Church

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 21, and LW Baptist’s theme for its worship service is Jesus’ parable about the father’s love; the story also called “the Prodigal Son.” The church meets Sundays at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

Jesus taught his people to pray, “Our Father, who art in heaven.” He often speaks of the father’s love. God is called “Father” 15 times in the Old Testament, but 245 times in the New. Both the Old and New Testaments use many other ways to express the Heavenly Father’s love. The psalmist says, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.”
