Woman’s Club donates to fund

LW CARES

The Leisure World Cares Fund gratefully acknowledges a generous financial donation from the Woman’s Club of Leisure World. The Woman’s Club is a nonprofit philanthropic organization and was one of the first clubs in Leisure World to be organized.

One of its goals is to raise and donate money each month to charitable organizations in the local community that help others, such as the LW Cares Fund, which is a local charity with a mission to contribute to housing security for Leisure World’s most vulnerable residents.

Nick Massetti accepted the donation at the Women’s Club’s June meeting. He described how the fund identifies residents who are struggling financially and overburdened by HOA fees. The fund offers a $200 monthly stipend for 12 months, which is renewable. To date, 23 awards have been made, and more applicants are welcome. Donations from community members have been significant and heartwarming.
