LW Men’s Golf League

Ten golfers from the Leisure Men’s Golf League competed at the 5,600 par 71 Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach on June 1. The course has been in good condition for quite a while, with well kept fairways and greens.

Five golfers shot net under par, and there were four birdies— two by Clay Fisher and one each by Fujio Norihiro and Jae Choi. Sam Choi was closest to the pin on 150-yard par 3 16th hole, and Norihiro was closest on the 140-yard par 3 seventh hole. Sam Choi and Jae Choi got fewest putts in the A flight and Won Park in the B.

Net score equals gross score minus handicap.

A flight winners: Steve Earl, first place; Fisher and Jae Choi, second; Kyle Van, third; Norihiro and Gary Stivers, fourth; Sam Choi, fifth.

B flight winners: Won Park, first place; Mike Jimenez, second; Bob Munn, third.

The Monday and Friday golf leagues play at four local courses. Advance league reservations are required with a sign up sheet available at each round.

There is a prize pool for each round that players are not obligated to enter. Rewards are given for low net in each flight, birdies, closest to the pin on two par threes, and for the fewest number of putts in each flight. Holes-in-one and eagles are generously rewarded.

Those interested in playing can contact Gary Stivers at 714313-3697 or Dave LaCascia at 801-674-5975.
