Seal Beach Sarang Church celebrated the 71st wedding anniversary of retired Elder Sungyou Hong and his wife, Eunsook, on May 3. To mark the milestone, the couple hosted a luncheon for the entire congregation following the morning worship service. Despite being 96 and 91 years old, the Hongs remain vibrant and dedicated members of their community. They currently serve as chairs of the church's Communion Committee, a duty they perform with great care and devotion. Beyond their formal roles, the couple is be - loved for their handmade kimchi. Shared frequently as gifts with fellow parishioners, their kimchi is widely regarded by congregation members as the best they have ever tasted. Seal Beach Sarang Church meets on Sundays at 12:20 p.m. at 13564 St. Andrews Drive. A light lunch follows the service. For more information, call 310-749-0577.
