LW Men’s Golf League

Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana hosted 12 golfers of the LW Men’s League on May 18. Overall the course was in reasonable shape, and new management has improvements underway. Willowick is a 6,000-yard very flat and long par 71 course. With no water hazards, numerous gaping sand traps, and difficult rough, scores here are always elevated. As a result there were two birdies—one each by Clay Fisher and Sam Choi— and four scores under net par.

Closest to the pin on the 150-yard par 3 fourth hole was Dave LaCascia, and on the 150yard 12th hole was Kyle Van. Sam Choi had fewest putts for the A flight, and Tom Ross had fewest for the B.

A flight winners: Fisher, first place; Sam Choi, Jae Choi and Kyle Van, second; Jim Goltra and LaCascia, third; Seon Kim and Bruno Santillo, fourth.

B flight winners: Mike Jimenez and Won Park, first; Ross, second; Bob Munn, third.

The league plays every Monday at four local courses, all within 15-20 minutes of Leisure World. Advance league reservations are required with a sign-up sheet available at each round.
