Shuffl eboard Club spring season has begun

After what seemed like a long break between seasons, the spring league of the Shuffleboard Club has begun and players were excited to be reunited on the courts.

The Tuesday evening league got things started with four teams playing and one team taking a bye. A bye is a pass, meaning that team doesn’t play that week because the courts can only accommodate four teams. The captains of the four teams playing were Sue Burkschab, Sally Fowler, Bob Peterson and Jesus Sosa. Serving as cocaptains were Lynne Haines and Karen Mendon.

Club members are reminded that practice sessions continue every Monday morning and Rod Osgood will be on hand to offer extra coaching should a player feel they need to refresh a skill or have something explained.

The last Friday lunch will be April 24 at the El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach.

April 8 winners: Team Karen walloped Team Bob 9-3. All-game winners were Sandy Derouin, Lynne Haines, Karen Mendon and Ellie West. Team Sue upset Team Sally 8-4. Allgame winners were Sue Burkschab, Heather Moore and Lori Propert.
