LW PRODUCERS CLUB The Leisure World Producers Club has disbanded after years of providing entertainment in Leisure World and beyond. The club donated the amount in its bank account to the Golden Age Foundation (GAF), which greatly appreciated the contribution. GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION EVENTS Seal Beach Health and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility on North Gate Road that provides care to seniors who need rehabilitation, medical support and assistance with daily living, contributed $1,000 to the Golden Age Foundation (GAF) to sponsor the Multicultural Festival July 18 at 7:30 p.m. The event will showcase different cultures in Leisure World.

OC TEACHER OF THE YEAR Megan Avalos, the daughter of Michael and Rose Banfield of Mutual 8, has been recognized as Orange County Teacher of the Year for 2026. She is a fifth grade teacher at Rossmoor Elementary School. Avalos will now compete for California state honors and then hopefully national recognition. Vera Rathje, a Juilliard-trained concert pianist, will perform for the LW community on Saturday, June 20, in Clubhouse 2 at 1:30 p.m. The event is hosted by the Japanese American Club. The Sunshine Club will meet on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The speaker will be Chad Berlinghieri, an international opera singer who has toured through Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He spent 15 years as resident artist with Opera Pacific at The Orange County Performing Arts Center and he was a five-time guest of the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
