Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. For support on a weight-loss journey, women are welcome to stop by at 8:15 to weigh in and complete the registration paperwork.

On April 3, members learned that the club lost a total of 20 pounds for the week with two biggest losers—Elizabeth Quesada and Julie Cisneros. They lost 3 pounds each. Quesada said she cut down on wine and snacks. Cisneros said she wasn’t sure how she lost weight but was happy that she did.

The queen of the month was Nancy Sheets with 8.5-pound loss. She did it by portion control, exercising, and following food for thought suggestions written on the club’s white board.

Other members who lost the most weight were Joyce Brannon, 8 pounds, and Ruby Resnick, 4.5 pounds. Jeanette Williams got recognized for regular attendance with no weight gain. Brannon and Sheets also reached their short-term goals, and Bea Quintana earned her master’s degree in goal weight.

The weekly food for thought was: “I don’t have to be perfect to achieve my goal weight. I just need to keep going.”
